Fabrication data-
Stainless Steel 316 Sheets & Plates can be readily welded and processed with standard shop fabrication process. These sheets and plates are drawn from the hot and cold working process. These are hot worked in the temperature range between 1700- 2000 degree F. These are recommended for most hot working process. To achieve the high corrosion resistance these are annealed. The whole process is cool down rapidly by water.
This alloy is quite ductile and forms easily. The cold working process is preferred helps to improve hardness and strength. However, after this process grade become magnetic in nature. The conventional welding process is used for welding. These sheets and plates do not require the post weld heat treatment. Work hardening process during fabrication is subjected to hip breaking. The best machining attains by slower speeds, feeds and rigid equipment.
In most of the adverse applications, Stainless Steel 316 Sheets & Plates show superior corrosion resistance. These sheets and plates perform well in sulfur contain environments and also in chlorides, sulfides, alkalis, nitric acids, phosphoric acid, and other harsh chemicals. These sheets and plates have some composition of molybdenum, chromium and nickel content.
In order to maintain quality in the global markets, we perform different tests on products. Following are the tests- spectro analysis, mechanical test, hardness test, tensile test, positive material test, micro, and macro test, chemical test, destructive/nondestructive test, and intergranular corrosion test. Other tests are flaring test, flattening test, ultrasonic test, radiographic test, pitting corrosion test and visual inspection.
